Programs Sponsored by California Preventative "Women United"is an outreach program developed by the educational branch of CPMF to inform the public about ways to prevent breast cancer. Each presentation includes:
The emphasis is on the notion that 'Knowledge is Power'. Women who are diagnosed in the early stages and do what they can to build up their immune system, have a better chance of saving their breasts and their lives. Over the last 6 years, Dr. Gardner has presented at over 30 locations:
Dr. Gardner also organized a symposium at U.C. Berkeley, on Breast Cancer Prevention, as part of a larger outreach to the younger generation. "Women's Advocate" is a program that offers support for women who have had a scare about breast cancer, whether or not it turns out to be so. This service is two-fold and includes: Complimentary phone consultations are offered to any female who has something suspicious in her breast. There is never a charge for this service. In the ½ hour scheduled consultation, the client's history is taken and information on breast cancer is addressed. Dr. Gardner explains that the AMA endorses the usual treatments ordered by the doctors. Doctors can lose their license for not following proper procedure so we can't blame them for not being more holistic. Alternative education about holistic options for treatment are made available by Dr. Gardner so the individual can decide what is best for them. Natural protocols, with documented research on each product, are sent to the client in the form of handouts. Once again the emphasis is on 'Knowledge is Power'. It is our belief that nobody makes a good decision out of fear, and that once all information is presented the person is much better equipped to make informed choices.
